Together: Hope for Hard Times

Join us tonight and next Wednesday as our Together group engages with The Center for Action and Contemplation webinar, "How Do We Find Hope for Hard Times?" CAC Dean of Core Faculty Carmen Acevedo Butcher and guest teacher Cole Arthur Riley along with Grammy winning musician Jon Battiste will guide attendees through teachings, conversations, and practices designed to help us step deeper into joy. Discover how we can find hope during times of personal loss, social unrest, and collective uncertainty.

This week we finished up with the 10th message in our 8 week series on the Beatitudes. This Sunday we engage the 8th and 9th beatitudes, blessed are the persecuted, and talked about rising together. This Sunday, we will continue through the Sermon on the Mount (MAtthew 5:13-16) and ponder how we are salt and light and how we - as individuals, as a faith community, as a nation (?) might be cities on hills.

On Sunday July 12th, Emma Feyas will be preaching in our Sunday morning service. Emma is the Associate Director of the Community Transformation and Chaplaincy program housed in the Community Transformation Center (CTC) at Palm Beach Atlantic University. She is currently pursuing a PhD in practical theology, focused on trauma and spirituality. We look forward to her being with us!

The Hope Circle Book Club

Lake Worth UCC Member Johanna Castillo is facilitating a new group, The Hope Circle Book Club. They meet every other Thursday evening in person in our office and online. They are currently discussing The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer. You can find more information here.

Spiritual Direction 

Lake Worth UCC member Stacey Harter is a seminary student focusing on spiritual direction. She is currently open to taking new directees. You can learn more about her and spiritual direction at Nautilus Spiritual Direction.
