We're finally getting a newsletter out and there is more information than we had room to share! Check back next week for our Women's Fellowship trip to the annual Florida UCC Women's Conference, Recognition of Our Volunteers, New Members, and the vigil on May 24th at the Broward ICE holding facility.

For many of us, Mother's Day is a special occassion to honor our mothers. For others, those that are grieving, disappointed, hurt or ambivalent about their relationship with their mother or children, Mother's Day isn't want Hallmark pretends that it is. This Sunday, we'll do our best to make space for all of the feelings of the day and talk about the many ways we can be mothered and mother. We also understand if you want to sit this Sunday out and join us next week. No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, you are welcome here!

This summer, we are going with Jesus to the mountain and hearing his ideas about how life works best for us. We have begun with the beatitudes, reflecting on whom Jesus calls blessed. Drawing on wisdom as diverse as Warren Carter (Matthew and the Margins), Emmet Fox (The Sermon on the Mount), and Mark Scandrette (The Nine-fold Path of Jesus), we are seeking to apply these principles to our individaul and collective lives. Service for Harvey Littlefield

Long time member of Lake Worth United Church of Christ, Harvey Littlefield, passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, May 1st. For many years, Harvey faithfully tended to the campus and ran our sound system on Sunday mornings. 

A gathering of family & friends will take place on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 1:30pm at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home. A funeral service led by Pastor Jason will follow at 2:30pm. A graveside service will then be held at Lake Worth Memory Gardens at 3:30pm. You can find his obituary here.

On Saturday, May 9th, there will be a gathering to remember Rafael, a member of our Wedensday night Together group. It will be at 5:00 PM at 825 North D. ST. 

The Hope Circle Book Club

Lake Worth UCC Member Johanna Castillo is facilitating a new group, The Hope Circle Book Club. They meet every other Thursday evening in person in our office and online. They are currently discussing The Serviceberry by Robin Wall Kimmerer. You can find more information here.

Spiritual Direction 

Lake Worth UCC member Stacey Harter is a seminary student focusing on spiritual direction. She is currently open to taking new directees. You can learn more about her and spiritual direction at Nautilus Spiritual Direction.
