March is justice season at Lake Worth United Church of Christ! We have some amazing opportunities to practice love and mercy over the next few weeks.

This Saturday is Walk In Love, a march sponsored by The Florida Immigration Coalition, Lake Worth Interfaith Network, Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Palm Beaches, Florida Rising, and Indivisible Immigration Coalition of the Palm Beaches. People of all faiths, backgrounds, and beliefs will come together to walk in love and support our immigrant neighbors—standing against family separation and advocating for the extension of Temporary Protected Status for our Haitian neighbors. Welcoming the stranger is not a political act; it is a human one.

The procession will conclude at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church (100 N Palmway, Lake Worth Beach) with a community rally.

Our Nehemiah Action is next Tuesday, March 24th 7:00 PM at JupiterFirst Church 1475 Indian Creek Pkwy, Jupiter, FL 33458. There is a bus that will leave from our church and other locations around Palm Beach County. Bus space is limited and you must register here.

Finally, on March 28th and 29th, we will be at Bryant Park as we once again sponsor Palm Beach Pride. We will have a booth at the festival and March in the parade on Sunday (note: our worship service will be early, 9:30, on this Sunday). You can sign up in the lobby on Sunday morning or email Pastor Jason if you would like to participate.

We have spent the season of Lent reminding ourselves about what the good news is. You can watch previous service here.

Our Nehemiah Action is 5 weeks away! On Tuesday evening, March 24th at 7:00 PM, we will gather, along with 27 other congregations in Palm Beach County to hold our public officials accountable for solutions to serious issues facing our community including affordable housing, immigration, and mental health support. The way that we are taken seriously is through the power that we demonstrate by our presence together. The goal for the action this year is 1600 people. The goal for Lake Worth United Church of Christ is 65. To reach that goal, we want to confirm 85 people attending (to account for emergencies an inabitlity for some to attend at the last minute). We currently have 48 committed. We are half way there! We would like to be at 85 by February 22nd.

The Hope Circle Book Club

Lake Worth UCC Member Johanna Castillo is facilitating a new group, The Hope Circle Book Club. They meet every other Thursday evening in person in our office and online. They are currently discussing The Book of Hope by Jane Goodall. You can find more information here.

Together: Hope: A User's Manual

Our Together group which meets on Wednesday nights is currently discussing An Evolving God, An Evolving Purpose, An Evolving World by Sister Joan Chittister.

We will be discussing chapter two tonight on site at 1415 North K St and via Zoom. 

Spiritual Direction 

Lake Worth UCC member Stacey Harter is a seminary student focusing on spiritual direction. She is currently open to taking new directees. You can learn more about her and spiritual direction at Nautilus Spiritual Direction.
