This Sunday we began a new series, Do Unto Others, getting practical about how we treat one another, even those who with whom we disagree.

Two weeks ago, we kicked off with "Kindness: Red and Blue Make Purple" and this Sunday we conitnued with "The Polarization Within: Compassion" You can watch the services, including some great music with our returning choir and instrumentalists here.

We are working to extend the conversation beyond Sunday morning. We have a devotional and journal that goes along with the series. You can find it here. There are also daily reminders for reflection that can be found on "The Daily" on our app (on the Apple App Store and Google Play)and on our website. 

Join us next Sunday, October 20  at 10:30 on-site at the campus of Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día at 1415 North K ST in Lake Worth Beach or online at lakeworthucc.org/DUO. It will be an experience of inspiring music, practical teaching, and a warm welcome.

Child of the Universe

It's great to have our choir back for the season. You can hear them sing "Child of the Universe" from this week's service here.

This Thursday at 11:00 AM, we will meet at Pentecostal Church of God in Christ at 540 Cheerful ST to prepare for our Affordable Housing Press Conference to be held at Currie Park on Flagler DR in West Palm Beach at 12:00.

Next Monday at 7:00 PM, we will gather for our annual Community PRoblems Assembly at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. We will be holding a Palm Beach Board of County Commssioners Candidate Forum regarding affordable housing. 

The last justice ministry house meeting of the year will be Saturday, November 9th at 2:00 PM, location to be determined. You have one more opportunity to share your story and learn how we are working together with other faith congregations to find and implement solutions to problems facing our county.

Our choir will be back beginning October 6th to help lead us in worship. If you would like to join them, they will be rehearsing this Sunday at 9:00 AM before the service in the sanctuary.

Do Unto Others

Beginning Wedensday, October 9th at 7:00 PM and for the following three weeks, we will be digging into how we put "Do Unto Others" into practice during our Together group. You can join us in the church meeting room and here on Zoom at 7:00 PM. You can find a copy of the material here.

The Miami Kids and the Maya

Unfortunately, this showing has sold out - we ar elooking for ways to bring it to the area. For ten years our church hosted a camp for Guatemalan children in Lake Worth. That camp was run by the SALTT (Service and Leadership for Today and Tomorrow) program of Immaculata-La Salle High School in Miami. There is a new documentary out about this group and their experience with the Guatemalan Maya community. It will be shown Saturday, October 19th at 6:30 PM (reception at 5:30) at the Kravis Center Perrson Hall. You can purchase a ticket and watch the trailer on the Kravis Center website.
