How do you want to be treated?

There’s a phrase, commonly known as The Golden Rule, that simply states: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” A version of this teaching can be found in almost every major religion. This universal rule holds the power to bring people together. And it just might help us be the best version of ourselves in the coming weeks and months.

Now, more than ever, we have the opportunity to be different, to treat others, even those with whom we disagree, with kindness, compassion, humility, respect, and love.

You are invited to join us for a new worship series beginning Sunday, October 6th  at 10:30 on-site at the campus of Iglesia Adventista del Séptimo Día at 1415 North K ST in Lake Worth Beach or online at lakeworthucc.org/DUO. It will be an experience of inspiring music, practical teaching, and a warm welcome.

New Music Alert!

With our new series comes some great new music. You can learn two of our new songs, "Love Has Broken Down the Wall," and "Mercy is Falling" here. You can also find them in the new "Music" section on our app.

On Sunday October 6th, we are inviting our community to come and experience Lake Worth United Church of Christ. We will have postcards and social media tools you can use to spread the word! Do you know somone who would benefit from being a part of our church? Consider inviting them to visit us.

Our choir will be back this Sunday and we will be welcoming some great musicians to help us lift up our praise!

Be prepared this month to say "Hello - we're glad you're here!" to an unfamiliar face.

We wrapped up our Season of Creation by observing Mountain Sunday this week - reflecting on our mountain top and valley low experiences. If you missed any of the worship service in our series. You can find them here.

The last justice ministry house meeting of the year will be Saturday, November 9th at 2:00 PM, location to be determined. You have one more opportunity to share your story and learn how we are working together with other faith congregations to find and implement solutions to problems facing our county.

Our choir will be back beginning October 6th to help lead us in worship. If you would like to join them, they will be rehearsing this Sunday at 9:00 AM before the service in the sanctuary.

Do Unto Others

Beginning Wedensday, October 9th at 7:00 PM and for the following three weeks, we will be digging into how we put "Do Unto Others" into practice during our Together group. You can join us in the church meeting room and here on Zoom at 7:00 PM. You can find a copy of the material here.

The Prom

On Sunday, October 6th, at 2:00 PM we are going as a group to see the musical The Prom at Lake Worth Playhouse. Tickets are $40. See Marilyn Stone to purchase a ticket.

The Miami Kids and the Maya

For ten years our church hosted a camp for Guatemalan children in Lake Worth. That camp was run by the SALTT (Service and Leadership for Today and Tomorrow) program of Immaculata-La Salle High School in Miami. There is a new documentary out about this group and their experience with the Guatemalan Maya community. It will be shown Saturday, October 19th at 6:30 PM (reception at 5:30) at the Kravis Center Perrson Hall. You can purchase a ticket and watch the trailer on the Kravis Center website.
