Together Tonight
Hello friends. I know many of us are waking up to a world we were not expecting this morning.
I will not impose on you any "wide" or "inspirational" words. There will be time enough to offer those to one another. Only know this: you are not alone. We are promised the presence of God in the midst of our disappointment and we practice being present to one
another.
We will be meeting tonight for our Together gathering. We will take the time to lament, love, and, if it feels right, begin a conversation about how we continue to love our community and our world. We will meet in person in the church office and via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/9548808629?pwd=MlRpa0tHU1JHZzFBOENhdEIvQkpDdz09&omn=89437061823. Just for tonight, we are pushing back our start time to 7:15. I would also like to have a conversation about how we might make space for people's experience in worship on Sunday and would appreciate your thoughts.
At 6:30 tonight, I will be facilitating the Lake Worth Interfaith Network meditation group, talking about Bro David Steindl-Rast and his
work on gratefulness. We will be engaging a meditation on how we might be grateful in and for the moment, even if we can't be grateful for our current circumstances. They meet online at https://www.zoom.us/j/83817137249. The passcode is rainbow. We will also participate in this group from the church office, so you can join us
there.
Wanting to withdraw a bit is a normal and appropriate reaction to disappointment. However, if you want to be with others, we are here to be Together!
Peace,
Pastor Jason
(please forgive my typos, was getting this out in a hurry!)
