The 2024 Our Faith Our Vote campaign asks the church to answer the call of 1 John 3:18 to “let us not love with words or speech, but in action and in truth,” by “voting with love.” Vote with love for creation, for our neighbors both here and abroad, for a just peace, for repair and reconciliation of the brokenness of our nation. And encourage your family, friends, and community to do the same.  The United Church of Christ website has some great resources for voting and being present over the next few days.

Seeking the Public Good

Last week, the daily meditations from The Center for Action and Contemplation explored the theme of "seeking the public good." Featured prominantly was Valarie Kaur who discusses her new book Sage Warrior, her Sikh faith, and how to see others with deep compassion and revolutionary love.

Valarie Kaur explains, “I’ve come to understand there are no such things as monsters in this world. Just human beings that act out of fear, insecurity or rage… Once we see their wound, they lose their power over us. We get to take that information into what we do next.”

New Worship Mini-Series Beginning November 10th

With the much awaited release of the film version of Wicked, we are taking three weeks to spend some time with the words and music of composer Stephen Schwartz. After the election it will be nice to sit back a bit and enjoy some good music from some wonderful soloists.

Our Enneagram Journey class resumes this Thursday evening at 7:00 PM. This week we will meet in person and via Zoom. We will email the link and materials to everyone who has signed up. If you haven't yet signed up, you can do so here.

All members of the church are asked to stay following the service on Sunday, November 17th, to approve reports contained in the Annual Report as well as approve the 2025 Budget, elect officers and members of Board and Committees as presented by the Nominating Committee.

The last justice ministry house meeting of the year will be Saturday, November 9th at 10:30 AM at.  Susan Peterson's house. Let Pastor Jason know if you would like to come. You have one more opportunity to share your story and learn how we are working together with other faith congregations to find and implement solutions to problems facing our county.

Beginning this Wednesday, November 6, at 7:00 PM and for the following six weeks, Rev. Nelson Stone will be leading us through historical and theological understandings of Jesus. You can join us in the church meeting room and here on Zoom at 7:00 PM.
