As we continued through Ephesians this week, we wrapped up the first half of the book. In chapter three, the writer of Ephesians is on their knees praying for their church to experience the height and breadth and depth of God's powerful love. You can watch the service here. Next week, as we move into chapter four, we will begin to explore how we interact with one another in response to this powerful love. We will begin with "Bound Together."

Last Wednesday we began a new weekly group, Together: A Support Group for Practicing Faith and Action. Each week we will begin with a centering practice, engage a topic regarding spirituality, community, or justice, and commit to actions we can take to live in the reality that, as Jesus said, "the kin-dom of God is among us." Our first two sessions will be a discussion of the United Church of Christ's statement on "Just Peace in Palestine" and how we might discern the voice of the Still Speaking God in current Middle East circumstances. We will meet at 7:00 (note time change) beginning on July 24th both onsite in the chirch office and online here on Zoom.

Join us on Sunday August 11th for a finger-food potluck in the parlor! We will gather in the parlor where it is cool and bring what we are best at from finger sandwiches to brownies to veggies/chips and dip. We are looking forward to being together!

PBS is currently airing a new documentary on the life of Teilhard de Chardin. The life of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, a French priest-paleontologist-visionary, suppressed by his Jesuit order for advocating evolution is revealed in a drama of personal awakening, a search for meaning, scientific adventure, unresolved conflict with authority, and human love. Included are interviews with Ilia Delio and Bishop Michael Curry. You can watch the documentary for free on the PBS website or app.
