Rev. Victor Stanley will be preaching this Sunday in Jason's absence on "Singing a Song in the Night," on how we might handle the difficult times of life. We will NOT be having the class on the app that was originally planned for this Sunday since Jason won't be here.
This week we began a new series inviting us to think about that with which we have been entrusted and how we hold that together. This week we began with "Accountable for the Harvest." You can watch the service here.
It was great to have Ashley Berry from Vita Nova with us on Sunday, October 24th to receive our gift to them of $20,000. Vita Nova is an organization in Palm Beach County that assists young adults experiencing homelessness with housing, life skills, and job preparation. It is a privilege for us to be able to assist them in their work now and in the future.
Join us for donuts, coffee, and conversation in the parlor after worship on the fourth Sunday of the month. Do you have questions for Pastor Jason? Responses to recent worship themes? Thoughts to share on how we practice faith, mercy, and justice together? Maybe you would just like to get to know people better. This is a new opportunity to do just that. We look forward to being
together next Sunday, September 24th.
Thank You! Hustle to End Hunger
Thank you to everyone who ran (Rex & Paisley!), walked, and contributed. We raised over $1500 for CROS Ministries.
In this mini group we will take three weeks to discuss Arthur C. Brooks and Oprah Winfrey's new book, Build the Life You Want: The Art and Science of Getting Happier. The book is readily available in multiple formats and venues. Let us know if you need help locating one. We will meet at 6:30 on Thursday evening October 27th - November 10th online and in person at the office. You can
find more information and register here.
For the past 13 years our church has hosted a community meal on Tuesday evenings. As we have been in the process of discerning how we might best serve God and God's people in the future, we feel our Communtiy Dinner is an important part of that work. In addition to a meal, we provde showers, laundry, hair cuts, toiletries, and food pantry. As we begin our dinners again in August,
we need to replenish our pantry. You can help by picking up the following on your next grocery run: Pop-top Canned Fruit, Pop-top Canned Meat, Granola/Snack Bars. You can also donate funds here. If you would like to help with this ministry by setting up,
serving, or cleaning up, see Susan Peterson.
