Keeping Faith: Sisters of Story

On Sunday December 3rd, First Congregational United Church of Christ, along with The Lake Worth Interfaith Network, will present Keeping Faith: Sisters of Story. For more information, see our website.

Family Advent Evening

Join us on Friday evening, December 1st as we begin the Advent season together. We will start with pizza at 6:00 PM and then engage in activities of the season such as advent wreath making, and engaging how we will make room in our lives for the coming of Christ. While the activities for the evening will be geared toward children, everyone is invited to join us.

Beer and Hymns: Carol Edition

We are going to sing, drink, and eat all over again! Join us for our second annual Beer and Hymns Christmas Carol Edition.

We will once again gather at Aioli’s at 7434 S. Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach. Our wonderful hosts will again have beer, wine, soft drinks, and wonderful pub food creations for us to enjoy. The only difference is that this time, all of the proceeds from our purchases will benefit five families in need from North Grade Elementary. Richmond and Allen will lead us in all your favorite songs of the season.

We are looking forward to a great night together. As you heard from last time, you will not want to miss this.

Christmas Offering

This year our Christmas Offering will go to support the Lake Worth Community Dinner. We have been feeding our neighbors almost every Tuesday night for the past seven years. This ministry is sustained by the hard work of our volunteers and by direct financial gifts. General budget dollars are not used to to fund the Community Dinner. This Advent and Christmas please consider giving generously to this important ministry of our church, provided to all who are hungry for food or fellowship.

You Oughta Be in Pictures!

We are in the process of producing a picture directory to distribute to members and friends of First Congregational United Church of Christ. Instead of engaging with a photography company to do this, we are going to be a little less formal. If you were part of our last directory, we still have your picture. If you weren't, we're asking you to send us a favorite picture of yourself. It can be anything from a selfie to a more formal picture that expresses who you are. Our only request is that it be a picture just of you, because it will appear by your name when we print the directory. If you would like someone to take a picture of you, let Pastor Jason know.

As much as we love gathering together on Sunday mornings, there are times when we are out of town or otherwise unable to be there in person. You can now watch our worship service live on Facebook right on your computer, tablet, or smart phone. At 10:30 on Sunday just head over to our Facebook page and join us!

Advent Book Study
Rev. Nelson Stone will continue the book study Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time by Marcus Borg during Advent. The group will continue to meet on Wednesdays during Advent at 6:30 in the parlor.

Invitation
Anyone interested in viewing Karen Christensen ' s photos and poems on display at the Boynton Civic Center on Tuesday, Dec. 12th at 10:30 a.m. and then going to lunch, contact Janet Lisle 561-964-3749

Angel Tree
Our church will support the Salvation Army Angel Tree project again this year. Choose your "angel" to shop for at the table in Studebaker Hall after the service.

Online Giving
Have you explored the opportunity of electronic giving? You can choose to have a set amount taken from your bank account on a regular basis or you can make a one (or more) time gift by checking account or credit card on our website. Your regular electronic giving means that your gift is available for ministry even when you are away (or forgot your checkbook!). Thank you for your continued support of the ministry of First Congregational Church!
