Listening Meetings

You are invited to attend one of our 2017 listening meetings as we begin our justice ministry year. The first step in justice work is to share our stories. These sessions are a chance for us to share our first encounter with injustice and to share our observations about injustice in our community. You will also hear about our justice ministry here at First Congregational United Church of Christ. The final listening meeting of this year will be Friday October 20th (note date change) 6:00 - 7:30 PM at Johana Castillo's house.

Exodus: A Journey of Justice

This week we continued engaging the story of Exodus as a story of justice. We pondered the idols of our lives, how we start to follow them, and how we lay them aside for the sake of a direct experience of God. You can watch the sermon here. To watch the whole service, you can head over to our Facebook page.

Next Sunday, we will ask with Moses, "Is God With Us?"

Yard Sale

Hey! If you are looking to clean up and maybe make a few dollars. Join us at our Community Yard Sale on November 4th at the church. Eden Place Neighborhood Association and First Congregational Church are opening up the campus for you to bring your stuff (and your own table, if you need it) and see what of what you have might find new life with someone else. Best of all, it is free to set up. Our Women’s Fellowship will once again be hosting their amazing cookie sale so you can come stock up for the holidays. We will look forward to seeing you there!

Pancake Breakfast

Join us after worship on Sunday October 29th for a pancake breakfast immediately following the worship service in the fellowship hall. What a great opportunity this will be to invite a friend for worship and fellowship!

Facebook Link

As much as we love gathering together on Sunday mornings, there are times when we are out of town or otherwise unable to be there in person. You can now watch our worship service live on Facebook right on your computer, tablet, or smart phone. At 10:30 on Sunday just head over to our Facebook page and join us!

Hurricane Relief

We are supporting relief efforts for Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria through One Great Hour of Sharing. If you would like to contribute, you can write "Hurricane Relief" on your envelope or check.

Silent Retreat
On Monday November 13th, the Monday Morning Meditation Group will be hosting an all day meditation retreat in the parlor from 9:00 until 3:39. See Nancy Lydon for more information.

Online Giving
Have you explored the opportunity of electronic giving? You can choose to have a set amount taken from your bank account on a regular basis or you can make a one (or more) time gift by checking account or credit card on our website. Your regular electronic giving means that your gift is available for ministry even when you are away (or forgot your checkbook!). Thank you for your continued support of the ministry of First Congregational Church!
