All My Days

This Sunday, Rev. Karen Christensen explored the role of the Holy Spirit in prayer. You can watch her sermon here.  Next  Sunday, we will wrap up our chain with an empty cross and talk about praying with and in Jesus. Make sure you get any beads that you have missed!

The Next Ten Years
On the occasion of the conclusion of 10 years of ministry together, join us on Sunday, August 27, as Pastor Jason shares thoughts on our next 10 years together.

Question & Response Sunday

Are there questions that you have about God, faith, the Bible, or spiritual life?

On Sunday, August 27th, we are opening the floor to what you wonder about. You can email your question to Pastor Jason or ask on that Sunday. Jason is not promising answers, but he will be sure to respond!

This might also be a good opportunity to invite a friend who has a question they would like to ask a pastor!

Samaritan Golf Classic
Do you golf? Consider participating in the 12th Annual Samaritan Golf Classic, supporting Community Christian Counseling Center. Proceeds from the tournament will enhance their ability to provide counseling services to those who would not be able to afford them. Our own Carol Lewis provides counseling services through Community Christian Counseling. You can learn more information and register for the tournament here.

School Supply Collection
For the month of July our congregation collected and donated school supplies for North Grade Elementary. Pictured are Harvey and Joylnn loading the supplies and Mrs. Williams, Guidance Counselor at North Grade Elementary, receiving supplies.

As much as we love gathering together on Sunday mornings, there are times when we are out of town or otherwise unable to be there in person. You can now watch our worship service live on Facebook right on your computer, tablet, or smart phone. At 10:30 on Sunday just head over to our Facebook page and join us!

Facebook

First, go to our page and "Like" us. However, just liking us does not mean that you will see everything we post. Each of our Facebook posts only goes to about 2% of the people who like our page. To make sure you see everything, after you like us, go to the pull-down menu on the "Like" button and click "Get Notifications." This way everything that we post will show up on your own Facebook wall.  If you are on Facebook, you can keep up with what is happening "between Sundays" on our Facebook page.

Choir Rehearsal Resumes
Do you like to sing? Are you looking for a great group to raise your voice with? Join our choir, which begins rehearsing again on September 12. They gather at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary to practice music for the following Sunday. They are a talented, laid back, helpful group with a great director, Bruce Linser, who will be happy to welcome you into their band!

Meditation with Maya Malay
Maya Malay will be leading meditation again in August, on the 24th and the 31st, at 7:00 PM in the church parlor.

Thank You!
Thanks to the congregation for raising $102.65 from the ice cream social Sunday, July 30. The children voted to purchase from Heifer International a "Basket of Hope" (which can include chicks, ducks or goslings) and "Trees for Every Season" (which includes seedlings and saplings).

Tools for Comfort & Growth

In the lobby of the sanctuary, we have material available to assist you on your spiritual journey. The Upper Room is a daily devotional and Care Notes each tackle a specific issue such as prayer, aging, losing a loved one, or parenting. Pick one up and consider donating so we can continue this ministry.

Online Giving
Have you explored the opportunity of electronic giving? You can choose to have a set amount taken from your bank account on a regular basis or you can make a one (or more) time gift by checking account or credit card on our website. Your regular electronic giving means that your gift is available for ministry even when you are away (or forgot your checkbook!). Thank you for your continued support of the ministry of First Congregational Church!
