New Worship Series Begins Sunday

Join us beginning Pentecost, this Sunday, May 15th for a new worship series featuring the music of Billy Joel. You can find more information on our website.

Stewardship Seminar

Are you interested in learning how to sustain and grow the financial resources needed to continue to fund our practicing community of faith, mercy, and justice? On August 6th and 7th, we will welcome Rev. Patrick Rogers, former CPA and current pastor of Fort Lauderdale United Church of Christ for a seminar on church stewardship.

Thank You Justice Ministry Network

Last Tuesday night, we celebrated our justice ministry year with others from across Palm Beach County.

Thank you to justice ministry network members Debbie and Johanna for organizing us this year to take a great first step toward ending the problem of homelessness in Palm Beach County. And congratulations to Patricia Brother, Bobbi Marsh, Debbie Copeland and Pastor Jason for being GNATS (Good Network Members All the Time) by attending all four network meetings, bringing at least three people to the Nehemiah action, and investing at least $200 in our justice ministry network this year!

Be watching for our listening meetings in the fall of this year to share your story and to learn how you can become involved in justice ministry in Palm Beach County.

Social Media Inspiration

Have you heard of Instagram? It is a social media platform where people post pictures for others to see. Here is an article about seven folks that are using Instagram to make the world a better place. How are you using the platform you have been given to encourage those around you?

Parlor Renovation Completed

Thank you to our Trustees, Men's Fellowship, Parlor Renovation Crew, and to everyone who contributed to our Christmas Offering for the parlor renovation. A wonderful space has been created for formation and fellowship. Be looking for a dedication date in the near future.

Beans and Rice Bagging

You are invited to join the Women's Fellowship on Thursday June 2nd as they make up 1 pound bags of rice and beans at their meeting at 12:00 noon.

Worship Planning Team

Beginning this Tuesday, May 19th, our Worship Planning Team will meet on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 to work on putting together liturgy and experiences for our Sunday morning worship services. There is always room for more creativity if you would like to join us!

Renewal Book Club

"The Husband's Secret" Liane Moriarty is the novel we will be discussing at the next book club meeting on Tuesday, May 17 at 6:30 pm. All are welcome to join us for an evening of good conversation and dessert.

Sunday Morning Bible Study

Each Sunday morning at 9:30, a Bible study is held in the parlor. This group has made it's way through half of the Psalms since the beginning of the year. You are welcome to join them!

Audio Visual Team

Our audio visual team is continuing to grow and they need your help. If you are willing to learn our sound and/or projection system, help create worship presentations, or help run our camera on Sundays, please see Vickie Grimes.

Online Giving

Have you explored the opportunity of electronic giving? You can choose to have a set amount taken from your bank account on a regular basis or you can make a one (or more) time gift by checking account or credit card on our website. Your regular electronic giving means that your gift is available for ministry even when you are away (or forgot your checkbook!). Thank you for your continued support of the ministry of First Congregational Church!

Facebook

If you are on Facebook, you can keep up with what is happening "between Sundays" on our Facebook page. First, go to our page and "Like" us. However, just liking us does not mean that you will see everything we post. Each of our Facebook posts only goes to about 2% of the people who like our page. To make sure you see everything, after you like us, go to the pull-down menu on the "Like" button and click "Get Notifications." This way everything that we post will show up on your own Facebook wall.
