"The Daily"

Are you taking advantage of this new way to start (or end) your day?
Each day on our website, you can find the daily scripture readings and links to inspirational devotionals. You can find it here.

Our Sunday Best

Together, we are creating a time and place of welcome and inspiration on Sunday mornings during our worship service and we would love to invite you to help!

We want to make sure that every guest and member that joins us on Sunday mornings knows that they are welcomed. Would you be willing to be a greeter or usher on Sunday mornings, either every week or once or twice a month? Would you be willing to read scripture during the service? Contact Cathy Austen if you are willing to participate in this ministry.

We also are continuing to add to our wonderful worship and music ministry on Sunday mornings. Do you play an instrument? We would love to have you play in worship on Sundays! We are also always looking for additional choir members to help lead in worship. Would you like to sing a solo? Your musical gifts will make our Sunday morning worship even better than it already is. Contact Bruce Linser for more information.

Souper Bowl Results

Well, our Souper Bowl collection was not a good predicter of the game results. The Broncos fared much better with $103 collected compared to $27 for the Seahawks. The big winner will be C.R.O.S. Caring Kitchen who will receive all of the funds!

And for our football pool, the first quarter winner was Cathy Austen ($25), the second quarter winner was Steven Schadle ($50), the third quarter was Marty Delarosa ($75). Our big winner was Bob Dreisbach who took away $200.

Thank you to our Men's Fellowship as well as Barbara Derryberry, Ginny Somerville and other helpers who made it a great time for all os us.

We're On Facebook!

If you are on Facebook, head over to our Facebook page and "Like" us to keep up with what is going on at First Congregational United Church of Christ "between Sundays."

Pancakes!

Join us this Sunday after worship for a pancake breakfast! The Back Bay Mission crew will be serving up pancakes and all the fixin's. It is a great opportunity to get to know one another and a great time to invite a friend to experience First Congregational Church for the first time.

All proceeds will benefit the Back Bay Mission Trip in May so bring a few bucks to give!

Body by God

As we continue our exploration of the relationship between our physical and spiritual selves, this week we paused to consider the food we put in our bodies, and how it affects our bodies, others, and our relationship with God.

You can watch the sermon here. In the comments section, share with us how you have practiced our focus exercise for the week, pausing to thank God for a meal and pausing to consider the effect of that meal on ourselves and our world.

Next Sunday, we will experience the power of Focus in creating changed in our lives.

Online Giving

Have you explored the opportunity of electronic giving? You can choose to have a set amount taken from your bank account on a regular basis or you can make a one (or more) time gift by checking account or credit card on our website. Your regular electronic giving means that your gift is available for ministry even when you are away (or forgot your checkbook!). Thank you for your continued support of the ministry of First Congregational Church!
