This Sunday, we explored Mark 6:1-13 and the intriguing story of Jesus' apparent constraint in performing miracles due to the disbelief of the people he encountered.

It makes one wonder - is it possible that Christ's work is constrained today by those of us who are most familiar with him, the inhabitants of his "hometown," the church?

The sermon is over but maybe the discussion is just beginning. Head to the website to share your thoughts!

School Supply Drive

We are once again collecting school supplies for both North Grade and South Grade Elementary Schools. Both of these schools serve a largely disadvantaged student population and every little bit helps. Please consider picking up some of these items during your next trip to the grocery or discount store and bring them to church with you this Sunday.

Online Giving

Have you explored the opportunity of electronic giving. You can choose to have a set amount taken from your bank account on a regular basis or you can make a one (or more) time gift by checking account or credit card on our website. Your regular electronic giving means that your gift is available for ministry even when you are away (or forgot your checkbook!). Thank you for your continued support of the ministry of First Congregational Church!

We're On Facebook!

Brought Together

Beginning this Sunday, we will begin a multi-week worship series in the book of Ephesians. This letter was written to a church in a time and place of new technologies (roads!) that brought new people and ideas together. Sound familiar?

Next Sunday, we will begin at the beginning as the author of the letter reminds us that we have been brought together as the children of God. We will look forward to gathering together as sisters and brothers in Christ!

 Thank You!

A great big thank you to everyone who volunteered and participated in last week's Fourth of July/Centennial Parade and Picnic.  It was a lot of fun and so many of you worked long and hard to make it a very special day.   To those who worked in the kitchen, "Hooray!"  The burgers and dogs were delish and we had a great variety of tasty side dishes and yummy desserts.   It is all of you who make this church truly a "family of God's children."

Thank you all,
