The Man Who Wrestled with God

This Sunday was the third of four Sundays that we have explored the story of Jacob. It has made us laugh and maybe cry, and often it has frustrated us. Hmm, sounds just like most of our lives!

This Sunday we talked about the story of Jacob, Rachel, Leah, and Laban, pondering the significance of the actions of some of the characters in the story. You can listen to Pastor Jason's sermon on the website, where you can also leave your comments on what this epic story has meant to you. Next Sunday, we conclude the saga with one of the most imaginative, powerful stories in the Bible, Jacob's wrestling match with an angel of God.

Ken Medema in Concert On Saturday, August 13th at 7:30, Ken Medema will be in concert at First Congregational Church of Ft. Lauderdale. Ken has performed for decades music that speaks to multiple generations. In this concert, he will include songs improvised from the stories of those in the audience. If you have been to any of his performances you know that it is more than a concert, it is an experience! If we have a group interested in going we can car pool from the church. Click here for more information. The More We Get Together... Our website is helpful in keeping everyone up-to-date with what is happening "at church." But it hasn't been as helpful in facilitating us staying in contact with one another and actually being the church...until now... Read more here.		Serving our World... We are collecting school supplies for South Grade and North Grade elementary schools all through July. You can find the list here, and bring supplies for the next two Sundays. And on the first Tuesday of the month, we give out personal items to the guests that need them at our Community Dinner. We are asking our congregation for donations of personal size tooth paste, hand wash, razors, hand towels, wash cloths, body wash, deodorant, socks, and bug repellant.
