Ecclesia

This Sunday, we explored the topic of mercy, and how we are called to practice it in community. We also heard from Pastor Judy Hanlon about her church's ministry to LGBT asylum seekers in Worcester, Massachusetts. You can watch the service here

Psalm Forum

First Congregational United Church of Christ is going to read through the Psalms in 2016! You are invited to join us in reading through the song book of the Bible.

Our Psalms Forum meets every Sunday at 9:30 AM with insightful conversation among those gathered. You can see an outline of what was discussed and participate virtually by sharing your questions and observations on our website

The talk will be presented by Dr. Mark Solomon, Professor Emeritus of History at Simmons College. The talk will be preceded by a Bring-a-dish meal at 6:00 pm. Open discussion will follow.

Dr. Solomon, an associate of the prestigious WEB Dubois Institute of African and African American History at Harvard, is an internationally known public intellectual and author, and has also been a leader of the US Peace Council and the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism.

New Study Group: The Way

Long before Paul was upset with his teaching of The Way; long before Mark, Q, or Thomas; long before Matthew or Luke used the works of Mark, Q, or Thomas, and a very long time before John would write, people were listening to what Joshua was saying and doing. I invite you to join me in a five week exploration of The Way. In our time together will explore the wisdom teachings of Joshua Ben Joseph who would become know as Jesus of Nazareth.

Join us for this five-week group beginning Thursday, January 7th at 7:00 PM.

Heifer Project

Painting Party

We are looking for a group of 2-3 people to help paint the parlor kitchen before we put down our new flooring. If you are able to help, either on a Saturday or during the week, contact Janet Lisle for more information.

Souper Bowl Sunday

Sunday, February 7th, we will celebrate the big day with a "tailgate party" with all your favorites after the worship service. We will also be collecting canned goods and money for CROS Ministries. Bring your spare change (and bills!) to put in the soup pots as we tackle hunger!

Online Giving

Have you explored the opportunity of electronic giving? You can choose to have a set amount taken from your bank account on a regular basis or you can make a one (or more) time gift by checking account or credit card on our website. Your regular electronic giving means that your gift is available for ministry even when you are away (or forgot your checkbook!). Thank you for your continued support of the ministry of First Congregational Church!
