Bruce Linser Concert

We are looking forward to Bruce's concert this Sunday. It will be a great afternoon together, listening to Bruce's amazing interpretations of American standards and Broadway favorites. He will be joined by accompanist Paul Reekie and special guest Shelley Keelor. Tickets can be purchased after worship on Sunday, on our website, or at the door.

Ecclesia

This Sunday, we continued our six-week journey through our mission statement “called to practice faith, mercy, and justice in community.” A church isn’t a place we go to. It is who we are, who we are called to be. We will explore our core values of faith, mercy, and justice. And we will ponder what it means to practice them in community. We are looking forward to this time together! You can find this week's sermon, "PRacticing," and join the conversation on our website.

Psalm Forum

First Congregational United Church of Christ is going to read through the Psalms in 2016! You are invited to join us in reading through the song book of the Bible.

Our Psalms Forum meets every Sunday at 9:30 AM with insightful conversation among those gathered. You can see an outline of what was discussed and participate virtually by sharing your questions and observations on our website
.

Church in Society Justice Series

Mark your calendar for the first in a series of Church in Society Justice Programs,"Black Lives Matter, Moral Mondays, Mainstream Politics: 2016 African American Activism in the Context of African American History", which will be held in our church parlor on Friday, January 29 at 7:00 pm. The talk will be presented by Dr. Mark Solomon, Professor Emeritus of History at Simmons College. The talk will be preceded by a Bring-a-dish meal at 6:00 pm. Open discussion will follow.

Dr. Solomon, an associate of the prestigious WEB Dubois Institute of African and African American History at Harvard, is an internationally known public intellectual and author, and has also been a leader of the US Peace Council and the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism.

RSVP to Carol Lewis at clewismft@aol.com or 561-346-4161 for the meal.

New Study Group: The Way

Long before Paul was upset with his teaching of The Way; long before Mark, Q, or Thomas; long before Matthew or Luke used the works of Mark, Q, or Thomas, and a very long time before John would write, people were listening to what Joshua was saying and doing. I invite you to join me in a five week exploration of The Way. In our time together will explore the wisdom teachings of Joshua Ben Joseph who would become know as Jesus of Nazareth.

Join us for this five-week group beginning Thursday, January 7th at 7:00 PM.
