Flea Market and Craft Sale

Our Flea Market and Craft Sale is two weeks away on Saturday, November 14th. There are still outside spaces available if you would like to sell your wares. If you are available to volunteer for setup or cleanup or during the day, talk to Bob Lilly or Christopher Lepard. This is also a great opportunity to invite your friends to get to know the wonderful, warm folks of First Congregational United Church of Christ!

Interfaith Thanksgiving Service

This Thanksgiving, November 26, 2015, the Lake Worth Interfaith Network will hold a service of gratitude right here at First Congregational United Church of Christ. Take a break from your cooking and join together as participants in the many faith traditions of Lake Worth come together sharing readings, prayer, and songs from their faith traditions.

Living Questions

Join us beginning in October for a new small-group experience. See more on our website.

The Widow's Mite ... Is It Right?

This Sunday we engaged the story of the widow's mite and what this story of the scribe and widow at the end of one religious era might have to say to us at the end of another. You can watch the sermon here.

Advent Together

On Wednesday evenings during Advent (December 2nd, 9th, and 16th) we will gather together for a soup supper and vespers service of song, scripture and prayer. This is a a great opportunity to take a break from the rush of the season and create space for the presence of God in the midst of the sacred season. It is also an opportunity to spend time with the wonderful folks of First Congregational United Church of Christ! Thank you Janet Lisle, Nelson Stone, and Mary Ellen Bryner who will be making soup for us.

Advent Day of Meditation
The Monday morning meditation group will hold it's next Day of Silent Meditation on Monday, December 7th, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Bring lunch, drinks and a jacket. Requested donation is $20. Call Nancy Lydon at 632-5040 if you have questions.

Annual Meeting
The annual meeting of First Congregational United Church of Christ will be held Sunday, November 22nd, following the worship service. At this meeting, we will approve our 2016 budget as well as elect officers and committee members for the new year. Please plan to attend.

Why Are We So Busy?
Over at the On Being website, columnist Courteney Martin ponders why we overcommit and stay so busy. You can read it here.

Online Giving

Have you explored the opportunity of electronic giving? You can choose to have a set amount taken from your bank account on a regular basis or you can make a one (or more) time gift by checking account or credit card on our website. Your regular electronic giving means that your gift is available for ministry even when you are away (or forgot your checkbook!). Thank you for your continued support of the ministry of First Congregational Church!

Facebook

If you are on Facebook, you can keep up with what is happening "between Sundays" on our Facebook page. First, go to our page and "Like" us. However, just liking us does not mean that you will see everything we post. Each of our Facebook posts only goes to about 2% of the people who like our page. To make sure you see everything, after you like us, go to the pull-down menu on the "Like" button and click "Get Notifications." This way everything that we post will show up on your own Facebook wall.
