CROS End Hunger Walk

We have a great group walking this year to end hunger! If you haven't had a chance to financially support one or more of our walkers, you can still do so this Sunday before they head out!

God at Work
This Sunday, we engaged the subject of "God at Work," talked about all of our work as sacred calling, and emphasized the importance of the dignity of all work. You can see the sermon here.

Thank You
Because of your generosity, we were able to donate 77 bags of food to CROS Ministries. That food went to their food pantry in Lake Worth and will be distributed to hungry families in the area. We alone cannot solve the hunger problem in Palm Beach County, but when we join together with other faith communities through CROS, we can make a good dent. Thank you for your participation!

Worship Planning Meeting
The next special season of the church year is Advent, the four weeks leading to Christmas when we prepare ourselves for for the incarnation of God in Christ and in our lives. Would you like to be a part of planning our worship during this season? We need help with chancel (stage) decoration, readings, music, and other elements. The word liturgy means "the work of the people" so we are going to take the opportunity to involve more people in creating our worship experiences. We will meet in person but also communicate and collaborate online. Contact Pastor Jason for more information.

Autumn
Autumn is a season of exhilarating beauty. It’s also a season of steady decline and, for some of us, deepening melancholy. The days become shorter and colder, the trees shed their glory, and summer’s abundance starts to decay toward winter’s death. Read more of Parker Palmer's thoughts on Autumn at onbeing.com.

Online Giving

Have you explored the opportunity of electronic giving? You can choose to have a set amount taken from your bank account on a regular basis or you can make a one (or more) time gift by checking account or credit card on our website. Your regular electronic giving means that your gift is available for ministry even when you are away (or forgot your checkbook!). Thank you for your continued support of the ministry of First Congregational Church!

If you are on Facebook, you can keep up with what is happening "between Sundays" on our Facebook page. First, go to our page and "Like" us. However, just liking us does not mean that you will see everything we post. Each of our Facebook posts only goes to about 2% of the people who like our page. To make sure you see everything, after you like us, go to the pull-down menu on the "Like" button and click "Get Notifications." This way everything that we post will show up on your own Facebook wall.
