Church Clean up
Join us this Saturday, November 15th, here at the church from 8:00 AM to
11:00 AM as we spruce up the grounds for the advent season. We will be washing
windows, spreading some mulch, and tackling some other projects. See Bob Lily for more information. Economic Justice There will be an Economic Justice Task Force meeting on Sunday, November
23, 2014 at 11:45 am in the parlor. Anyone interested in learning more about how
we as a church can continue to be part of the economic and environmental
solutions is welcome to participate. Get a cup of coffee and come join us. Carol
Lewis will give a report on the Economic Justice Leaders' Event in Cleveland
last month and provide information about opportunities for education and action
for the economy and the environment. Blessed to Serve
This Sunday we recognized the many ways we minister together as First
Congregational United Church of Christ as we wrapped up our series, Blessed to
Be a Blessing. You can view Sunday's sermon here. Next Sunday, we
return to the lectionary and spend time together with Jesus in the Gospel of
Matthew.
Musicians Needed
As our Sunday morning worshiping congregation continues to grow in diversity,
the desire has been expressed that we explore a wider variety of music and
worship styles when we gather. To do that, we need your help! Do you play an
instrument? Did you play an instrument and are you willing to pick it up again?
We want to worship in ways that connect with people of many cultures and
generations. Would you be willing to accompany congregational singing on a
guitar? How about a flute solo at the offertory? How are you willing to
participate in our worship service? Let Pastor Jason know.

What is Happening to
Churches?
You are invited to preview the film "When God Left the Building" with Pastor
Jason on Thursday evening, November 20th, at 7:00 PM, with discussion following.
You can read more about the movie and watch the trailer here. Annual Meeting
Our Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, November 16th, following our
worship service. All are invited to attend. Members are requested to attend and
be prepared to vote on our budget and officers for 2015. Online Giving Have you explored the opportunity of electronic giving? You can choose to have a set amount taken from your bank account on a regular basis or you can make a one (or more) time gift by checking account or credit card on our website. Your regular electronic giving means that your gift is available for ministry even when you are away (or forgot your checkbook!). Thank you for your continued support of the ministry of First Congregational Church!
