November 9, 2014

Join us this Sunday for the final week of our "Blessed to Be a Blessing" series as we
consecrate our Faith Promises for 2015 and celebrate all of the ministries and
ministers in our midst. You are invited to join us for lunch after worship. If you did not reserve a place this past Sunday, please call the church office.

Save the Date

Join us on November 16th for our monthly Evening Prayer and Worship Service. We will gather at 6:30 to pray and sing together and explore the topic of "Prayer as Breathing."

New Talents, New Gifts

Lynne Serratore has recently retired from her career at Florida Power and Light, but she hasn't slowed down! With her new found free time, she has been creatively engaged. She continues her participation in the local women's chorus Women of Note, where she sings with friend Lois Atchley. She has also embarked on a new endeavor, flower arranging. Many of the beautiful arrangements that have graced our altar in the past weeks have been Lynne's work, including the autumnal piece from this past Sunday. Thank you Lynne for sharing your gifts with us. We are blessed to have you in our midst!

Musicians Needed

As our Sunday morning worshiping congregation continues to grow in diversity, the desire has been expressed that we explore a wider variety of music and worship styles when we gather. To do that, we need your help! Do you play an instrument? Did you play an instrument and are you willing to pick it up again? We want to worship in ways that connect with people of many cultures and generations. Would you be willing to accompany congregational singing on a guitar? How about a flute solo at the offertory? How are you willing to participate in our worship service? Let Pastor Jason know.

What is Happening to
Churches?

You are invited to preview the film "When God Left the Building" with Pastor Jason on Thursday evening, November 20th, at 7:00 PM, with discussion following. You can read more about the movie and watch the trailer here.

Annual Meeting

Our Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, November 16th, following our worship service. All are invited to attend. Members are requested to attend and be prepared to vote on our budget and officers for 2015.

Online Giving

Have you explored the opportunity of electronic giving? You can choose to have a set amount taken from your bank account on a regular basis or you can make a one (or more) time gift by checking account or credit card on our website. Your regular electronic giving means that your gift is available for ministry even when you are away (or forgot your checkbook!). Thank you for your continued support of the ministry of First Congregational Church!
