July 13, 2014

This Sunday..

Next week, July 13th, Quattlebaum Funeral Home will be providing lunch for us after our Sunday worship service as well as sharing with us a brief presentation on pre-need funeral planning. If you did not let us know if you are coming, please call the office or email us.

In worship on Sunday we will be experiencing the primal story of Jacob and Esau and exploring how we live in and let go of the tensions in our lives.

We are extending our church food pantry drive for two more weeks. Pat Gregg and Bonnie Bennett distribute food on Mondays and Wednesdays to people in our community who may fall through the cracks of other organizations. Please bring in boxed macaroni and cheese, Ramen noodles, canned vegetables, soups, meats, and  fruits - pop tops are preferred. Thank you!

Community Dinner Update

Rumor has it that the famous Candy Von Sparkle will be making an appearance next Sunday to present a check for the Lake Worth Community Dinner! You can read the report for the dinner as it enters its sixth year of serving those that are hungry for food and/or fellowship on our website

We're On Facebook!

If you are on Facebook, head over to our Facebook page and "Like" us to keep up with what is going on at First Congregational United Church of Christ "between Sundays."

Freedom and Independence

This week we talked about the freedom we have in Christ and the opportunity we have been given to use that freedom to serve others. You can listen to Pastor Jason's sermon here.

Open to Grace Yoga

Did you know we have a yoga class here at the church? Each Thursday, instructor Sally Grillo leads a group. You can learn more on our website.

The Daily

The daily is back from summer hiatus! Check in each day for thoughts on the daily lectionary readings, links to inspirational devotionals and opportunities to pray for one another.

Online Giving

Have you explored the opportunity of electronic giving? You can choose to have a set amount taken from your bank account on a regular basis or you can make a one (or more) time gift by checking account or credit card on our website. Your regular electronic giving means that your gift is available for ministry even when you are away (or forgot your checkbook!). Thank you for your continued support of the ministry of First Congregational Church!
