Holiday Festival

This Saturday, November 14th from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM is our annual holiday festival. We have arts & crafts from our own crafters and from over 30vendors. The popular cookie box sale will be back and we have the biggest baskets we've ever had to be raffled off. Basket raffle tickets will be available beginning this Sunday for $1 apiece of 6 for $5.00.

We would love to see everyone here on Saturday to help, greet, and buy! Parking will be at a premium on Saturday, so if you can please consider parking a block or two a way on one of the side streets and walking to the church to make room for guests and those who may not be able to walk that far. We would appreciate it!

Also, there is still time to drop off cookies, cupcakes or muffins for the bake sale. You can drop them by the church on Friday or Saturday morning.

Being Church

This Sunday, we began our exploration of what it might look like to be church rather than do church, by reevaluating how we use our time. When we think of offering our time "at church," we think of sitting in a committee meeting, paying bills, and folding bulletins (all important activities!) However, in Acts 2 we learn that the first participants in the great experiment we call church spent their time in prayer, fellowship, and learning. How could we, 2000 years later, spend our time. You can listen to Pastor Jason's message here.

Next Sunday, we take look at how those early followers used their treasures as we ask "How Much Does Pente-cost?" This is also the Sunday we are inviting our members and friends to bring back their purple cards to estimate how they will participate financially in being church during 2010.

Next week we will return to our regularly scheduled e-newsletters!
