Don't Forget! - Food Festival this Sunday - See Below |
Outflow Begins March 1st
March 1st begins a month-long journey we will take together as church. Outflow is an invitation to move outside of ourselves into a relationship with God and with others. It will include five weeks of inspiring music and teaching during our Sunday morning worship service, five weeks of fellowship and discussion in small groups, and opportunities to engage in outreach to our community.
Are You Ready for the Next Step?
Everyone reading this has an incredible opportunity during the month of March, an
opportunity to take a step. For many of you, your relationship with
First Congregational Church of Lake Worth has been to worship with us
on Sunday mornings. And what fine worship it is! I am offering an
invitation to you to consider taking the next step and join a five-week Outflow group during the month of March. These groups, led by people
just like you (and who, themselves, are taking their own next step
of facilitating a group) are designed to further discuss and respond to
some of the ideas that will be presented during the worship services in
March. A friend of mine is fond of saying that "life transformation
doesn't happen in a line (meaning a pew); it happens in a circle
(meaning a small group)."
Even if you have never
participated in a small group before, I encourage you to join us
beginning the week of March 1st at one of these times:
Monday Evenings 5:30 PM-7:00 PM
Wednesday Evenings 6:30 PM- 8:00 PM
Thursday Mornings 9:30 AM-11:00 AM
Thursday Evenings 6:30 PM-8:00 PM
(with groups for adults, children, and youth)
Saturday Mornings 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM
And
we will add more groups as necessary. Another next step for many of us
will be to take part in a "community outflow" event. During the month
of March, we will be handing out water, inviting people to parties, and
engaging in other acts of kindness to our community. It is an
opportunity to reach out to others within the safety of a group! Be
looking for the calendar so you can see when you will be able to
participate.
As a church, we are going to take the next step during the month of March and we want you to join us!
Peace,
Pastor Jason

Encounters With Christ This Sunday, Pastor Jason Fairbanks continued our series of "Encounters with Christ" with the story of Peter walking on the water. Listen here for some characteristics of a "water-walker."
Next Sunday we will tackle the issue of how we can (and why we would want to) encounter Christ even though he is not physically with us as we experience "Encountering Christ: the Road to Emmaus" Food Festival This Sunday, right after the worship service, will be the Women's Fellowship Food Festival. There will be all sorts of delicacies from soup to nuts (literally!) lovingly prepared by the women (and a few men) of our church. Bring a few bucks, enjoy a great meal, and contribute to the ministries of our church! Back Bay Mission Trip
Also after the worship service, in the parlor, will be our very first informational meeting about our Back Bay Mission Trip which will take place June 7th-14th. This Week's Opportunities
