Loving God, Loving Others, Serving the World

February 13,2009

An Invitation...

My message this week is a continuation of our series, Encounters with Christ. This week we'll look at Peter's stroll with Jesus on the stormy Sea of Galilee. The most important, most powerful, most promising invitation we receive in our life is the invitation from Christ to step out of our boat and join him in a life of faith filled with joy, peace, love, purpose, and adventure!

No matter how young or how old you are, whether you are a student, working or retired, this message is for you. Christ wants to meet you right where you are and take you to places you have never imagined! Do you long to be a water-walker? Come and find out more!

Peace,
Pastor Jason

During the month of March, we will be experiencing together Outflow. We'll be introduced to principles for enjoying a life that's filled to the brim with God's love, joy, and hope. It starts with a deep relationship with God, then flows out to touch your family and friends, your neighbors, your world. They will notice a difference...and so will you.

March 1st will kick-off five Sundays of inspirational music and teaching, but that is only the beginning. We will be spending time together in small groups throughout the week as well as participating together in opportunities to flow out into our community. Look for more information this week at church as well as a special email at the beginning of next week.

Rev. Kent Siladi's Message

This Sunday, Kent Siladi, Conference Minister of The United Church of Christ, shared with us "Grumble First, Change Later," drawing parallels on the journey of the people of Israel from Egypt to the Promised Land to our journey as the people of God in the Christian church. Kent reminded us of our unique calling as First Congregational Church of Lake Worth and as a United Church of Christ in our community.
