Calling All Musicians!
![]() Here at First Congregational, we have a burning to desire to reach the unchurched in our community with the transforming love of God. A new, relevant, way to do that is to begin an additional worship
service with a more contemporary, more casual atmosphere to attract younger adults and families. The music for this service will be pop and rock (and yes,
it will be loud). Therefore, one importnat element will be a kick-butt band to help lead in worship. Do you or someone you know play the keyboard, guitar, bass guitar, or drums? Were you in a band in another time and place? Do you know a good musician who is looking for a place to play? Let Jason know. This Week's Opportunities

This Sunday's Message "The Power to Change:
You Don't Have to Stay the Same"
This Sunday, we began our series on"The Power to Change" by looking at the rich story of Jacob wrestling with the angel of God. We explored together the four phases of change: the crisis, the commitment, the confession, and the conversion. If you haven't heard it take a listen. If you have heard it, pass it along to a friend who needs to experience the power of change in their own life.
The conversion phase of change takes place as we see ourselves as God sees us: fully loved and accepted. We will dig into that topic a little deeper this coming Sunday when we look at the story of Zacheus (remember him?) and talk about "How Much You Matter to God."
Come and bring someone you love!
Get In the Game
This Sunday, November 9th at 9:00 AM, we will have bagels. coffee, juice and
great conversation for anyone interested in knowing a little more about
First Congregational Church. If you have been attending and want to
know more about what is involved in being a member of our church, this
is a great opportunity for you. If you are a member and want to know
more, this is for you too! If there is a question you have or an issue
you have been scratching your head about, come and ask!
You Know Someone...

Wow, what a month we have had. There has been so many different people involved in so many different projects. Thank you to all who have baked cookies, helped out on election day, shared "your reason" during worship, cared for children during activities, participated in the fall festival, served food for Big House, sewed puppets, and cleaned the church in Harvey's absence. Can you believe we did all that in just one month?! Thank you. Thank you for being open to what God wants to do in us and through us to love our community. We are loving God, loving others, and serving the world in so many different ways. And Lake Worth is starting to notice! You are an inspiration to me.
