This Week's Sermon ![]() Well, we are back up and running! To listen to or download this week's sermon click here. To watch the video, click here.
In the fifth chapter of the first letter to the Thessalonians,
in light of an uncertain future, the author
talks about what is important: our
relationship with God and our
relationship with others. For those ready
to move toward community, he gives
practical advice including prayer,
encouragement, forgiveness, submission,
and doing good. | |

On Sunday, October 26th from 12 to 4 we will be having an old-fashioned community fall festival at the church. There will be hot dogs, a bounce house, sack races, corn eating contest, and lots more. We will be inviting the community and we have just received permission to invite the students from North Grade Elementary School to join us so we are expecting a big crowd. The event will be free to everyone. We are only asking that those who come bring a school supply for North Grade Elementary School.
We are looking at building some great bridges to our community at this event and would love to have as much help as possible. Contact Sue Cone or email us if you would like to participate.

Reverse Trick-or-Treat
On Saturday, October 18th, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, we will once again be reverse trick-or-treating in the neighborhood, giving out bags of candy and letting folks know that God loves them and we do too. We need two things from those reading this: a bag of candy or two, and volunteers to go door-to-door to help us distribute. Everyone who went last year got a huge thrill from giving the candy away. Let Jason know if you would like to participate.
Get In the Game
On Sunday, October 12th at 9:00 AM, we will have bagels. coffee, juice and great conversation for anyone interested in knowing a little more about First Congregational Church. If you have been attending and want to know more about what is involved in being a member of our church, this is a great opportunity for you. If you are a member and want to know more, this is for you too! If there is a question you have or an issue you have been scratching your head about, come and ask! . You Know Someone...

This
Sunday, October 5th, during worship we will be exploring a topic that
has the power to change lives. Henry David Thoreau observed that most
people live lives of "quiet desperation." Is there another way to live?
Is the quality of one's life dependent on our job, our finances, who is
elected in November, or the state of the economy? The good news of our
faith is that we can live a life of joy, significance, and adventure no
matter what our circumstances. I encourage you to join us this Sunday
at 10:30 AM for a worship service that could change your life for the
better. I also encourage you to forward this email to the person you
know who is worried about his current circumstances, who feels like she
is missing something in life, or who just needs a little inspiration.
I'm looking forward to a wonderful morning together.
